Italian Cherry Ice

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cup cherry, pomegranate or grape juice
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice


In a small saucepan over high heat, heat sugar and water to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer 2 minutes until sugar is completely dissolved.

In a large shallow baking dish, stir cherry juice, sugar mixture and lime juice until mixed. Cover and freeze 30 minutes. Stir the mixture with a fork, then freeze until firm, at least 2 to 3 hours.

to serve, spoon or scrape ice into paper cups. Serve immediately.
